My name is Liza Perks and I am married to my lovely husband Ashley and have 3 gorgeous children, Sinead, Calvin and Hudson. I love to support others through their life journey with nature on our side. We have all got so much evidence that people in ancient civilizations often used essential oils, plants and other plant materials for their physical and mental health. I truly believe that once we tap back into nature, we too can support each other through life’s ups and downs.
This is so important to me to share this information as depending on the individual and the emotion, there are seemingly endless methods for altering or managing our mood. However, many of these options do not promote good emotional or physical health.
Unfortunately, some people use questionable or even potentially dangerous methods to manage or alter their emotions, which can lead to more serious problems down the road.

What are Enhanced Oils?
Anytime we inhale a distinct aroma (including the scent of an essential oil), that aroma will be processed through different parts of the brain in a special sequence. After inhaling an aroma, the scent will be processed in the brain’s olfactory system, which is responsible for controlling our sense of smell.
When an aroma is inhaled, it travels to the olfactory system by way of the olfactory nerve, so that it can be processed.
The olfactory system is connected to the limbic system, a part of the brain where our emotions and memories are stored. This connection to the limbic system causes a response to the aroma based on any memories that are associated with that smell.
The response produced by the limbic system of the brain often causes an immediate rush of feelings—also known as a positive emotional response.
Of all the five human senses, smell is the most direct way to access our mood, memory, emotions and even physiology. That is why aromatherapy is so powerful. While it may seem like you are just simply smelling something, it’s actually a direct way to impact your mood, and therefore your health at any given moment.

How do I use them?
Aromatically – diffuse, directly inhale, or add to hot water to experience the aromatic benefits of essential oils.
Topically – many oils can be used either diluted with a carrier oil or undiluted onto the skin. Each oil has specific instructions for dilution and suitability for topical use, so always follow the instructions on each oil’s individual label.
Flavouring – some essential oils can be used as a flavouring to your favourite recipes and beverages. Only use the essential oils that have been indicated as suitable for flavouring.
